Riley and I made our way up to Richmond on Friday. It was so great seeing John! I helped him with some studying and then we made our way downtown. I had brought two homemade meals for him and he was so excited. All he asked for was my cookin'! Saturday night we went out for ice cream. Riley enjoyed his snack!
John and I are starting our married life together! We're parents to a beautiful baby boy. This is our journey as we navigate parenthood and life itself!

Happy 1st Anniversary to Us!
A year ago today, I married my best friend. He's my biggest supporter and the absolute love of my life. I look back on our year and I feel so blessed. We have had the most amazing year together. It was a year full of surprises, forks in the road, adventures, and most importantly, love. As we enter our second year, there will be many more life changes and experiences, but I know that no matter what happens, we're in it together.
Happy Anniversary, John! 50 more to go...

Humidity is in the air
Riley and I are having a great summer so far! We walk every morning and evening. We've been forgoing the beach walks, since I'm tired of hosing the sand off of him. It has been so hot here, the humidity is killing us! I have been vegging out mostly. Mom and I have seen a few movies and went to the beach. I did some shopping yesterday. There has also been alot of napping in this house! Beach Day!
John is doing really well at school. He's loving his classes and thinks they're very interesting. We're going to see him next Friday and I'm so excited I can hardly wait!

South Carolina
Riley and I made it to South Carolina! We haven't been doing much. Riley LOVES the beach! He was a little unsure of the waves breaking at his feet at first, but he's loving it now. Riley and Opal are having a good time. Opal is very protective of him, it's so funny!
Riley enjoying the beach for the first time.
On our evening walks, Riley loves to flop down into the water. It was funny at first, but after having to hose him down every night to get all of the sand off of him, not so funny anymore.

John's Birthday and First Day of School
Today is John's birthday and it's also his first day of school. We drove to West Virginia yesterday and had a great dinner at an Italian restaurant. This morning I went pick up Cracker Barrel breakfast for him. There wasn't alot of breakfast options and we had to leave by 8:30am, which is why I picked it up. He looked amazing in his suit! I had another 7 hours of driving ahead of me, so I stayed in my p.j.'s without makeup. He is at school now and is settled in. We thought he would have internet access but it looks like it will be very limited so I'll try to keep everyone updated.

Packing and Celebrating
2 more days of school! 4 more days until John starts school. It's such a great thing but it's still sad for me with being apart from him. However, it's such a wonderful opportunity for us as a family. This week is defiantly bittersweet for me. Anyway, we've started packing! Our guest room is full of stuff!
John and I will be apart for our first anniversary (June 21) so we decided to celebrate a few weeks early. We started off at the Cheesecake Factory. Our food was delicious! Our Oreo cheesecake was yummy!

We ended the night with walking the dog and watching a movie. The next day we took the top of our wedding cake out of the freezer and tried a piece. It was so good! We had a great celebration. Now it's on to bigger and better things!
