21 Weeks

How far along: 21 Weeks.
Total weight gain: 10 lbs total. (8 in the last 5 weeks, haha!) Let's just say I'm all back into the eating phase. :)
Maternity clothes: I only wear jersey knit pants, a pair of maternity jeans, a few maternity shirts, some of John's t-shirts, and most of my regular shirts. I'm so ready for spring/summer so I can pull out my dresses.
Sleep: I'm sleeping all night, every night (crossing fingers) and I'm even still napping. I also just bought a $10 body pillow from Walmart. Have you ever priced a body pillow? Expensive! I assumed I would just surround myself with pillows throughout this pregnancy but that body pillow is the best investment I had made so far. So comfy!!
Best Moment this week: A few things this week! Being able to see our little boy during the ultrasound. Always does my heart good.  I made an "A" on my midterm that I spent alot of time studying for. I met 2 wives of people John works with (one of the women work for the same company as John) and I now have 2 friends here! Finally! All 3 couples went out to lunch last weekend and I've since hung out with one of the ladies, who happens to be 10 weeks pregnant. We had alot to talk about, obviously. All 3 of us have made plans to go shopping next Saturday. Yay!
Movement: Haha! He doesn't stop! I love it. It's the best feeling in the world. He sometimes wakes me up with his kicking, but I'm enjoying every second of it. After worrying so much about him not moving, I'm treasuring every kick.
Gender: Boy!
Labor signs: None. Hopefully I won't have any for another (gulp) 19 weeks.
Belly button: Slowly but surely, it's making it's way out. It's not all the way out, but it's halfway there.
Cravings: I don't really have any cravings except cheese, but let's face it, that was a craving even before I was pregnant. I'm at the point where I'll eat anything I like and I'll eat alot of it.
What I miss: As of right now, nothing.
Stretch Marks: *Sigh*  The line by the belly button has gotten darker.
What baby is up to: Your baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound (he's 14oz) and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long. You may soon feel like he's practicing martial arts as his initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. You may also discover a pattern to his activity as you get to know him better. In other developments, your baby's eyebrows and lids are present now.
What I am looking forward to this week: Kate is coming tomorrow! I am so excited! She is one of my friends from Indy who decided to come visit me. Yay! She'll get here tomorrow morning and will leave Monday morning. I'm so excited to be able to spend time with her!

20 Week Ultrasound

We had our ultrasound today and it went really well. Baby Boy is 14 oz. and very active. The lady who did our ultrasound could not stop laughing because he was moving around so much. It was a really cool experience. There was a huge flat screen TV mounted on the wall, which is where we were able to see him. This first pic is of him moving his hands around. It looked like he was waving, which was really cute.
These are his 5 fingers.
And his little tootsies (his feet).
Um, yeah..... still a boy!
His profile. I love his little nose.
It was really great being able to see him. It makes me worry a little less knowing he's healthy. I love watching him move so much. He's definitely been moving a whole lot more, especially after I eat.

I've gained a total of 10lbs and my belly is measuring where it's supposed to be. I'll do my weekly update Wednesday!

20 Weeks, the Halfway Point

How far along:  20 weeks. Halfway there! John said it was all downhill from here, I think realistically it's more up an uphill battle, but whatevs....
Total weight gain: My trusty, cheap scale says I lost a pound or two, but I'll know for sure Monday.
Maternity clothes:  I wear jersey knit pants, my maternity jeans, 3 maternity tops, and John's t-shirts some days. However, my yoga pants now leave a mark on my stomach that doesn't feel too great. Apparently those are getting a little tight.
Sleep: I'm sleeping all night long right now. Yesterday I had a 2 and a half hour nap, slept all night, and didn't wake up until 10. Not sure what all the sleeping is about, but I like it!
Best Moment this week: We really haven't had any "best" moments this week. Baby is kicking everyday, so that makes me happy.
Movement: Yes, everyday.
Gender: ALL BOY!!!!!!!
Labor signs: Hopefully I won't have any for another 20 weeks! (this is part of the uphill battle I mentioned. Just sayin)
Belly button: It'll be in for awhile, but the skin around it is starting to look kinda weird. What is that?
Cravings: Nothing much. Still chips, dip, and grapes.
What I miss: A good digestive track. TMI? Sorry...
Stretch Marks:  There is a light line from my belly button to the top of my pubic bone. It'll get darker as my belly gets bigger. I'm wondering if the weirdness around my belly button is going to be stretch marks. Not sure..
What baby is up to:  Baby gulps down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for nutrition and to practice swallowing and digesting. And, these days, those taste buds actually work! Studies show that after birth, babies respond best to tastes they've already had via amniotic fluid. (So in other words, our baby boy is going to like some cajun home cooking!)
What I am looking forward to this week: Our 20 week ultrasound appointment Monday. It always does my heart good just to see him and make sure he's doing ok in there.

Our Laid Back Saturday

Today is a very laid back day. The rain hasn't stopped since yesterday and we're expecting 60 mile an hour winds by tonight and tomorrow. It's also chilly. So today we decided to hunker down in our house and just enjoy lounging in our p.j.s and enjoy the relaxation. John and I both have tests to study for (he for work, me for school), so we spent a couple of hours this morning on the couch studying with the basketball games on in the background. Riley fell asleep on the couch and I thought he needed covering up.
John pretending to sleep (with a pencil in his hand). : )
 Our beautiful little boy.
Our family picture with Riley yawning in the background.
A bit blurry, but I haven't done anything with my hair or face in a couple of days so I'm not complaining.
19 and 1/2 weeks. He's been kicking everyday so far since I last posted. The other night was the first and only time he kicked and I was able to feel it on the outside. I was reading and he kicked so hard he moved the book. It was awesome, though it felt really weird. I'm ready for John to be able to feel him move.
We don't have much else planned for the weekend. John and I cooked together a few weekends ago and we really enjoyed the time we spent together in the kitchen, so we decided we would make that a weekend thing. Last Sunday we made a homemade lasagna and tonight we will make a baked spaghetti. Other than that, between studying and the rain, I'm sure we won't make it out of the house much. :)

19 Weeks

How far along: 19 weeks. Almost halfway.
Total weight gain: I'm still at about the 8lb mark.
Maternity clothes:  I wear jersey knit pants, my maternity jeans, and 3 maternity tops. I also hit up the Old Navy sale and bought about 4 tank tops that I can continue to wear even after the baby is born.
Sleep: I'm sleeping all night long right now! This time change is kicking my butt.
Best Moment this week: Finding out Mom and Keith are moving back to St. Louis! They will be so much closer.
Movement: Yes, but the past week I've barely felt him once a day, if that. It's making me really nervous but my next appointment is March 28th and we'll have an ultrasound so I'll be able to see him.
Gender: ALL BOY!!!!!!!
Labor signs: Hopefully I won't have any for another 21 weeks! (this number keeps getting smaller and smaller)
Belly button: It'll be in for awhile
Cravings: Nothing much. Still chips and dip, grapes, and the chocolate craving has hit! Every other day I'll allow myself to have either thin mints or m&m's. I can't have both and I can't have them every night. I don't want to go from gaining 8lbs to 20lbs in a week!
What I miss: Feeling my little boy kick a few times a day, everyday.
Stretch Marks: Sigh. There is a light line from my belly button to the top of my pubic bone. It'll get darker as my belly gets bigger.
What baby is up to:  Your baby's sensory development is exploding! His brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that he may be able to hear your voice now Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.
What I am looking forward to this week: I'm hoping he will become more active. I'm also looking forward to the 3 shipments of items I ordered this past week for his room. I bought airplane closet dividers, airplane wall hooks, and a sign to hang up in the nursery. Those were the 3 things I had to have, so I'm finished shopping for now. :)
19 weeks.

18 Weeks

How far along: 18 weeks. Almost halfway.
Total weight gain: According to my new trusty $7.99 scale from Target, I have gained a total of 8lbs.
Maternity clothes:  I wear jersey knit pants, my maternity jeans, and I just bought 2 maternity tops. They are heaven sent. I finally feel comfortable and I don't have my shirt riding up all day.
Sleep: I'm sleeping all night long right now! I'm also taking much shorter naps, if any at all.
Best Moment this week: Being able to spend time with the Oges'. We had a great time shopping, eating, and hanging out. I can't wait to see everyone again in April!
Movement: YES! I feel him a few times a day, mostly during the evening.
Gender: ALL BOY!!!!!!!
Labor signs: Hopefully I won't have any for another 22 weeks! (this number keeps getting smaller and smaller)
Belly button: It'll be in for awhile
Cravings: Nothing much. I am going through alot of grapes right now though.
What I miss: Nothing!
Stretch Marks: Sigh. There is a light line from my belly button to the top of my pubic bone. It'll get darker as my belly gets bigger.
What baby is up to:  Baby's become amazingly mobile, passing the hours yawning, hiccupping, rolling, twisting, kicking, punching, sucking, and swallowing.
What I am looking forward to this week: Relaxing!

17 Weeks!

How Far along: 17 weeks. The best week yet ;)
Total weight gain: 3lbs
Maternity clothes:  I mostly just wear yoga and jersey knit pants everyday. I have ordered a pair of maternity jeans and they should be here sometime this week.
Sleep: I'm sleeping all night long right now! I'm also taking much shorter naps, if any at all.
Best Moment this week: Seeing our healthy baby boy and finding out the sex!
Movement: YES! Last week I felt something and I knew instantly it was him. It's still very light and I don't feel him everyday, but it's pretty cool to feel little kicks.
Gender: ALL BOY!!!!!!!
Labor signs: Hopefully I won't have any for another 23 weeks! (this number keeps getting smaller and smaller)
Belly button: It'll be in for awhile
Cravings: Chips and dip.
What I miss: Nothing! After finding out the gender and feeling him move, this pregnancy is much more real and I'm loving every second of it.
Stretch Marks: Sigh. There is a light line from my belly button to the top of my pubic bone. It'll get darker as my belly gets bigger.
What baby is up to:  Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now, and he's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. He can move his joints, and his sweat glands are starting to develop.
What I am looking forward to this week: The Oges' are coming Friday! It's going to be so great to be able to hang out with my family! :)
