Snow and more snow...

So this morning I get up, get ready for work, and open the front door.... This is what I see. We got 9 inches of snow the night before. As I was looking at this I yelled "John, your bringing me to work!"
Riley was outside and he loves the snow! This is at our back door. Look how high it is. When I stepped out I went straight down into the snow. Thank goodness I was wearing boots!

I am on my way to the garage for work..yeah I can't believe school was open! My car will be stuck in the garage for a few days. John barely got out in his Jeep with 4 wheel drive. We passed alot of cars that were stranded. Even a city bus was stuck! If you had a car there was a great chance you weren't going to make it anywhere.

I went to school for about 4 hours. 12 kids and 6 teachers showed up. I ended up being the lunch lady and made lunch for everyone. I left at noon (we eat at 11:30), and John and I decided to play in the snow for a while. You can see how high the snow is by Riley. It is still blowing my mind!

This is our street. We're a bus route so they plow it but there's so much snow. Also, if you notice, the reason alot of people are stuck is because the plow moves all the snow to the side and it blocks the cars in.

Riley and I were playing with the stick. We had snowball fights and I wore myself out running through all the snow that went higher than my boots.

I needed just one family picture and this is what I got! : ) The neighbor took it. John shoveled the sidewalk and it's still completely covered! We got another 2 inches this morning so it totaled to 11 inches of snow. Absolutely crazy.

Nothing much...

I have been hounding John for sometime now to put up the living room curtains. Last weekend, we finally did just that. It makes the whole room different. Don't look at the rest of the room, I didn't clean it before I took this picture. Riley's blanket is still on the couch. Anyway, I love how it looks and he even admitted he liked them as well. So, this past weekend John and I went to a couple's retreat for the Catholic church. We are getting married on the beach but we'll be having our marriage blessed in the church as well. It was a great, tiring, and meaningful weekend. However, my future husbands humor came out a few times. This is one of them...
He wore this on the last day. It was so funny!! Of course, he was the only one with my kind of sense of humor. It was hysterical! There was alot of talking and sharing. However, on the last day it was time to go. I noticed alot of the couple's looked alike. It was pretty funny. We also played the newlyweds game. We lost. That game is a sham! One of the questions was "What does your spouse like on his pizza?" I guessed. We only get the things I like on pizza. haha. Another was "What kind of animal do you think your are?" I put a dog only because John and I love dogs and I thought he would think that. Nope, he said giraffe, because he knows I love giraffe's. Just things like that. Plus, the fed us like crazy! We ate non stop. But overall, it was a very special weekend for us. We're very happy we went. This morning I woke up to breakfast in bed. I know things like that won't last forever but I appreciate them now. I couldn't have asked for a better partner in my life : )Now, he's off to the gym and I'm going clean and run errands. We're back to real life. Next month will be 3 years for us. I can't wait for the next 50. Love you johnboy.

Happy Birthday Mary Katelyn!! (aka my kuku)I can't believe you are already 11 years old! I remember when you were first born. I finally got a sister! You are turning out to be a beautiful, smart, caring, wonderful little lady. You have such a big heart. You treat your dog like she's your little girl and I know Blaze was taken care of by you as well.Have fun at your party and slumber party Saturday! I hope you have a great birthday! I know I'm not there to celebrate it with you but I will be thinking about you all day. I love you and miss you!!!!!!!!!

Could he be any better?

John and I like to start Christmas a little early. The decorations usually go up around the first week of December. I like it all out for at least a month because the thought of putting it all away puts me in a bad mood. John was flying all last week and I was NOT putting all the stuff away by myself. It's not the taking down so much as the walking outside in the cold to get the containers. So all last week, I left it up waiting for John to get home so we could do it together. When I say "we can do it together" I really mean "John can do the hard parts". When I got home Thursday after work, this is what I saw.... This is where the Christmas tree last stood. On a side note, yes mom that is a second carpet you see, tell Keith thanks for me. *grumbling*. Anywayyyyy,I was so happy!!! I couldn't have picked a better guy! He knew how much I was dreading the whole process. Not only this but he picked up all the mantle things, vacuumed, and brought all the stuff out to the garage. Plus, the table with all the pictures was put back in to place here.(I just didn't take a pic of that). He did it all!! I was so happy I made him dinner! Ok maybe I usually do that anyway, but still. It was the least I could do!

So anyway, not much else. John is officially unemployed. We have been spending the weekend registering for our wedding, grocery shopping, and little other things (post office, library, etc..). I can't believe tomorrow is already Monday. This weekend has flown by! I hope everyone has a great week, I really just wanted to brag about my johnboy helping a sista out!

Happy New Year and Happy Birthday Riley!!!

Happy New Year everyone!! I hope ya'll had a great day. New Years eve I was in such a grumpy mood because I kept thinking "John is getting laid of in 15 days". Plus I hadn't really seen him (in exception for a couple of hours one day) for 2 and 1/2 weeks! But anyway, New Years day I woke up in a great mood and ready to cook. I invited over Johns parents for a late lunch. John was supposed to be there but he got rerouted and couldn't get home until that night. The table cloth was $4.99 thanks to a target 50% off sale.
This was my roast. It was so big I had to cut it in half. The other half was cooking in a crock pot. I called mom many times about cooking this correctly. It came out perfect. I was so surprised but at the same time not because I LOVE to cook. It has a calming effect on me. The Bray really enjoyed my dinner, which I was happy about. I also made rice and gravy, a green bean casserole with Ma-bs cheese sauce, and croissant rolls. We had it for dinner last night, I brought it to school for lunch, and John and I just had the rest of it for dinner. Yum!!!

After, the Brays and I decided to play my Wii Fit that I got for Christmas. (Thanks mom) It was sooo much fun and I laughed so hard. They were cracking me up with all that. John got home around 5:30 last night and we went see Marley and Me which we loved!! The book was better, but isn't it always?
I know it's easy to look at everything that's going wrong in our lives right now and it totally gets us down, but, we are blessed. All of our friends and family are healthy. We have a house to live in (as of now), and food to eat. We can still pay our bills. We don't have kids to worry about. And we have the most amazing support system I have ever seen. We truly are lucky is every sense of the way. I may not like the job situation but it could be a hundred times worth and for that we're very thankful.
My resolution this year is to love with everything I have ( no walls!!), to say what I think if I think it's important, to stand up for what I believe in, find ways to better myself, and do things that make me happy. Not you happy, me happy : ) Whats yours? Also, today is........

Riley's 3rd Birthday!!! Our baby boy is 3 years old. We got him when he was just turning 3 months old. I can't believe we have all been together this long. Not long ago he was so small with huge paws. Now he's our 75lb sweet child. We decided to have a little party for him, just us 3. I like how John was home for his birthday and not mine (HAHA JUST KIDDING HONEY!!!)... anyway... we went to the dog bakery and got him some treats. For those of you in Louisiana, there are actual dog bakery's here. They bake treats and birthday cakes. It's amazing the things they come up with.

We got him a cupcake and put in 3 candles. We sang happy birthday to him. He's the love of our life and I'm so glad I picked him and bought him for John with his credit card : ) Best decision I ever made using someone else's money.
