IT'S A BOY!!!!!!!!!

John and I had an anatomy scan done yesterday and we were surprised! I've been going on and on about how I thought it was girl (I didn't prefer girl, I just thought it was) and when the sonogram guy pointed to our little boy we were over the moon ecstatic! It was by far one of the most amazing days I've ever had. I'm still beaming from ear to ear.

This picture is showing "boy". Find the arrow. :) Doesn't he have perfect little feet?
This is a back view of him laying on his side.
A picture of his perfect little spine.
A bit alien looking, but it's his whole body. You can see his head, arms, and legs. He was in the process of squirming around when the sonogram man got this shot. By the end of next week his skull should be fully grown and covered. Baby boy also kept opening his mouth like he was talking and at one point while waving his hand we got a shot of him flicking us off. Could he be any cuter? I know, I'm biased.

I took some 16 and a half week pics. I know some of you were asking to see my belly. :)

I'll blog on Wednesday for our 17th week!

16 Weeks

How Far along: 16 weeks. Already.
Total weight gain: 3lbs
Maternity clothes: No. I just wear yoga and jersey knit pants everyday.
Sleep: I'm sleeping all night long right now!
Best Moment this week: Having the Brays over and hearing our baby's heartbeat .
Movement: It's getting closer to the time when I should feel it. My stomach is still doing the stretching and pulling thing though which is quite annoying, especially at night.
Gender: All Girl.
Labor signs: Hopefully I won't have any for another 24 weeks! (this number keeps getting smaller and smaller)
Belly button: It'll be in for awhile
Cravings: Chips and dip. It also feels like I'm drinking everything in sight.
What I miss: Sometimes I miss feeling like myself and not having different things going on with my body.
Stretch Marks: None yet
What baby is up to: Tiny bones forming in baby's ears mean she can now pick up your voice. A few more minuscule changes: Eyebrows, lashes, and hair are starting to fill in, and taste buds are forming.
What I am looking forward to this week: Saturday.

It's becoming more real!

Our office is now a nursery. We still need to move the computer out, but besides that, these have moved in....

The boxed was just opened.

The guys putting the crib together, though Thelma and I helped.

Finished product

We thankfully were able to get the floor model so the guys didn't have to put this together.

This actually took them the longest to put together, but it's so comfortable and perfect for the room.

David and Thelma are here for the long holiday weekend and we've been having a great time. It rained the first two days they were here but yesterday and today have been beautiful. We had our nails done, shopped, and haven't stopped eating yet. Yet, there's been lots of relaxation. It's my dream weekend! : ) We had a great weekend and it's going to be hard to see them off tomorrow.

15 Weeks

How Far along: 15 weeks (Can you believe it?)
Total weight gain: I'm sure it's just a pound or so.
Maternity clothes: Nope. I just wear yoga and jersey knit pants everyday.
Sleep: This past week I seem to be sleeping alot more.
Best Moment this week: Our Valentines dinner at PF Changs. It was delicious! .
Movement: Too soon for me to feel anything, but apparently baby is moving all around. I'm told I should feel baby between 16-20 weeks. I am feeling the stretching and pulling in my stomach, mostly when I go to bed at night or first thing in the morning.
Gender: All Girl.
Labor signs: Hopefully I won't have any for another 25 weeks! (this number keeps getting smaller and smaller)
Belly button: It'll be in for awhile
Cravings: Nothing.
What I miss: Not a thing.
Stretch Marks: None yet
What baby is up to: She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds
What I am looking forward to this week: David and Thelma will be here tomorrow!!! We are so excited and having been looking forward to their arrival. We also have our 16 week checkup on Monday and I'm excited to hear baby's heartbeat again.

A baby at 15 weeks (not ours).

14 Weeks!

How Far along: 14 weeks
Total weight gain: I'm sure it's still none. I wish I had a scale.
Maternity clothes: Nope. I just wear yoga and jersey knit pants everyday.
Sleep: This past week I seem to be sleeping alot more.
Best Moment this week: John and I hitting our 5 year anniversary.
Movement: Too soon for me to feel anything, but apparently baby is moving all around and sucking it's thumb.
Gender: All Girl.
Labor signs: Hopefully I won't have any for another 26 weeks!
Belly button: It'll be in for awhile
Cravings: Still McDonalds breakfast (somewhat), but otherwise nothing sounds good right now.
What I miss: Not a thing.
Stretch Marks: Not on me yet! I went to pre-natal yoga last night and I saw everyones stretchmarks under their bellies. Tonight, the I'm putting on the lotion, even though I know stretch marks are genetic (no pressure, mom).
What baby is up to: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb!  His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet are more flexible and active.
What I am looking forward to this week: Hopefully baby will hit all milestones.  We're celebrating Valentines Day Saturday night at P.F. Changs. Other than that there's not much else going on around here. :)

No pics of me this week. Don't worry, your not missing much.

13 Weeks/ Second Trimester

How Far along: 13 weeks
Total weight gain: I'm sure it's still none. I wish I had a scale.
Maternity clothes: I'm back to the Bella Band. My most loose fitting jeans no longer button up.
Sleep: This changes daily. Some nights I'm completely out, some I toss and turn.
Best Moment this week:  Hitting the second trimester!! Worst moment this week? Realizing that labor and delivery are that much closer. Also, I've noticed that things are changing a whole lot faster this week. Everything was gradual in the first trimester, now it seems everyday that something happens and it's all going a little too fast for me.
Movement: Too soon for me to feel anything, but apparently if I poke my stomach baby will squirm and move around.
Gender: All Girl. John has decided it's a boy because of the milk comment (Thanks Christine!! haha) Though he did say he can be persuaded back to girl, I just need to tell him something girl related. lol. He's so funny. I think there are only 3 people that think this baby is a girl so I'm really excited to find out the sex.
Labor signs: Hopefully I won't have any for another 27 weeks!
Belly button: It'll be in for awhile
Cravings: McDonald's breakfast. My mouth is watering just thinking about an egg, cheese, and sausage biscuit with a hash brown. Mmmm. I just looked at the clock and it's too late for breakfast now.
What I miss: Not a thing.
Stretch Marks: Only in my mind
What baby is up to: Baby is the size of a peach, about 3 inches long. If you are having a girl, she will have more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries by week 13.
Her teeth are in place under her gums, waiting to come out during teething, which can start as early as three months, or as late as twelve months.
What I am looking forward to this week: Hopefully baby will hit all milestones.  I'm also looking forward to John and I celebrating 5 years together next week. We're going to make a trip to the Chili's Friday night. Momma is wanting some fajitas!

Ok, so the first picture I was trying to suck in, the second I look alot bigger than I would like so I'm sure dinner is showing itself. These pictures are getting more and more embarrassing to put up. *Sigh*
