25 Weeks

How far along: 25 Weeks.
Total weight gain: 15lbs. total.
Maternity clothes: I wear anything maternity or dresses.
Sleep: I'm sleeping well when I'm in my own bed, otherwise not so good.
Best Moment this week: Hanging out with Bob and Mike. It was alot of fun! Easter dinner was delicious so that was also a plus.
Movement:  Often. He may sleep sometimes but once he gets moving, he's at it for awhile.
Gender: Boy!
Labor signs: None. Hopefully I won't have any for another (gulp) 15 weeks.
Belly button: Slowly but surely, it's making it's way out. It's mostly there.
Cravings: Food. I'm back to wanting comfort foods.
What I miss: A clear nasal passage.
Stretch Marks: The line by the belly button has gotten darker.
What baby is up to: Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. He weighs about a pound and a half, but he's beginning to exchange his long, lean look for some baby fat. As he does, his wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and he'll start to look more and more like a newborn. He's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.
What I am looking forward to this week: I'm looking forward to the end of school. I'm super busy and will continue to be until May 19. I'm also looking forward to our BBQ we're having with some friends this weekend at our house. The weather is beautiful and I can't wait to sit in the sun! However, I'm not looking forward to the glucose test I have to take in 2 weeks. :(

Happy Easter, Y'all!

We had a great Easter this year! Bob and Mike were here and it was alot of fun and good food!
Our table...
You know there was alot of wine drinking!
John and Bob (our baby's Godfather!) :)
 Riley relaxing on Easter morning.
 Momma and Ri Ri
Us 4! The only picture with John not squinting as much.
He's always anticipating the flash! Haha, I love this man!
Brisket and homemade mac&cheese. It was goooood!
Green beans with cheese and sweet potato casserole (John's favorite).
The food and company were awesome. The boys headed to the movies and I went take a nap. There are plenty of leftovers so we'll be doing this for dinner tonight as well. I hope everyone had a safe and happy Easter!

Louisiana Baby Shower Pictures!

Here are some pictures from my baby shower in Lafayette. It was absolutely wonderful and my aunts and cousins did an amazing job!
I'm admiring my diaper cake. (Thanks Karie!)

Mom made our baby a Dr. Seuss quilt.

24 Weeks!

How far along: 24 Weeks.
Total weight gain: I'll find out for sure Monday but by the looks of it, about 15 lbs.
Maternity clothes: I wear anything maternity or dresses.
Sleep: I'm sleeping all night, every night (most of the time).
Best Moment this week: Being in Louisiana!! It's so good to be home and see all of my family. My baby shower was also a highlight. This baby is going to need his own house to store everything he's gotten so far!
Movement:  He doesn't stop. It's not 24/7 or anything like that but it is at least every few hours, sometimes constant but sometimes not.
Gender: Boy!
Labor signs: None. Hopefully I won't have any for another (gulp) 16 weeks.
Belly button: Slowly but surely, it's making it's way out. It's mostly there.
Cravings: Food.
What I miss: As of right now, nothing.
Stretch Marks: *Sigh*  The line by the belly button has gotten darker.
What baby is up to: Baby's skin is becoming more opaque as the fat starts to pack on. And, thanks to the formation of small capillaries, his newly thick skin is taking on a fresh pink glow.
What I am looking forward to this week: I fly home tomorrow and Bob and Mike will be there! It will be so good being able to see them this weekend. I'm also looking forward to organizing the baby's room.

23 Weeks!

How far along: 23 Weeks.
Total weight gain: 10 lbs total, but I'm sure I've gained a pound or two in the last week. I'll find out at my 24 week appointment.
Maternity clothes: The only items I wear are loose fitting pants or maternity shorts. I'm also starting to wear skirts and dresses. It's very uncommon for me to wear pre-baby shirts these days. They just dont stay down over my belly.
Sleep: I'm sleeping all night, every night. Thank goodness I have a husband who has a sense of humor about the amount of pillows I use. He calls it my birds nest. :)
Best Moment this week: Having a relaxing weekend. It was nice to just hang around the house, run a few errands, and grill out all weekend with the beautiful weather. We have been walking every evening and sometimes ending up at Baskin Robbins.
Movement:  He doesn't stop. It's not 24/7 or anything like that but it is at least every few hours, sometimes constant but sometimes not.
Gender: Boy!
Labor signs: None. Hopefully I won't have any for another (gulp) 17 weeks. I am starting to feel the tightening in my stomach sometimes but it's not painful. I didn't realize until last week when I read it in both of my books that this will start happening and not to confuse it with labor, it is just my body starting to prepare.
Belly button: Slowly but surely, it's making it's way out. It's mostly there.
Cravings: Food.
What I miss: As of right now, nothing.
Stretch Marks: *Sigh*  The line by the belly button has gotten darker.
What baby is up to: Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With his sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that he's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound, you may be able to see him squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in his lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing him for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze him when he hears them outside the womb.
What I am looking forward to this week: LOUISIANA!!!! I leave in less than 36 hours. I am mostly packed with one more load of laundry to do. I meet with the dog walker tomorrow afternoon so she can let Riley out while John is working. I'm a bit anxious leaving my family here but I'm sure that feeling will pass once I'm in LA. I'm excited to see all of my family as well as John's parents who are driving to LA for my baby shower. I can't wait for everyone to see how big baby has gotten!
The Birds Nest. Guess which side I sleep on....
It's a bit blurry, but this is 23 weeks.

22 Weeks

How far along: 22 Weeks.
Total weight gain: 10 lbs total, but I'm sure I've gained a pound or two in the last week. My belly has definitely hit another growth spurt. I'm also noticing my face definitely looks bigger (fatter).
Maternity clothes: I only wear jersey knit pants, a pair of maternity jeans, a few maternity shirts, some of John's t-shirts, and most of my regular shirts. I bought 2 pairs of maternity shorts this weekend. I attempted to try on a pair of regular shorts with a band around the top. Hahahahahahaha!!!! No way, no how. I ended up at motherhood maternity shelling out a fortune just so I could have shorts to wear and I'm glad I did because it's hot and I've already worn them.
Sleep: I'm sleeping all night, every night (crossing fingers). I'm starting to get allergies (I think) so the past couple of nights have been a little rough but I slept all last night.
Best Moment this week: Kate coming to visit! We had so much fun! Also, last night John felt the baby kick for the first time.
Movement:  He doesn't stop! I love it. It's the best feeling in the world. He's also hiccuping. Now that is a strange feeling!
Gender: Boy!
Labor signs: None. Hopefully I won't have any for another (gulp) 18 weeks.
Belly button: Slowly but surely, it's making it's way out. It's not all the way out, but it's halfway there.
Cravings: Food.
What I miss: As of right now, nothing.
Stretch Marks: *Sigh*  The line by the belly button has gotten darker.
What baby is up to: At 11 inches and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in.
What I am looking forward to this week: I'm looking forward to the weekend. By then my 3 (!!!) papers for English should be completed. We are also going refrigerator shopping because WE RENTED OUR HOUSE!!! Thank goodness! We took our refrigerator with us so we're buying one for the house in Indy. It's also my last weekend at home before I fly to Louisiana for my baby shower, which I'm super pumped about. I also get to see my family! I haven't seen my mom since Christmas so I'm really wanting the time to fly so I can see her. John's parents are driving down for the shower and I'm really excited to see them as well. It's going to be alot of fun. Also, today I'm going have lunch with 3 other ladies and I'm so excited about it. Saturday we're going shopping, not sure where though. I have alot to look forward to the next couple of weeks and I know the time is going to fly by and before I know it, it'll be May.

22 Weeks and a bigger face. It's also first thing in the morning.
We walked to Baskin Robbins the other night and Riley had a cup of whipped cream.
 His hat.
 Such a precious boy.
We've about finished the nursery. The wall decals are removable so I'm thinking about putting our baby's name on the wall behind his bed. And yes, there is an orb on the crib.

The two airplanes on the wall behind the glider are wall hooks. They are so cute and we have a place to hang something if we need to.

My Adventurous Weekend!

My friend Kate from Indy flew to CA for a few days to hang out with me. We had such a great time, it was really hard to see her go. We always have such a good time talking, laughing, eating, and just hanging out. I picked her up from the airport Thursday morning and we went straight to lunch, got a pedicure, and then just hung out on the couch watching tv all afternoon. It was great! Friday morning we headed to Ikea (love that store!) where we bought quite a few things. I bought a bookshelf for the baby, a lamp, shelves for the nursery wall, and a wire drawer container thingy for the baby's closet for all of the extra diapers, wipes, lotions, baby wipes, ect. This is Kate checking out the dresser drawers in Ikea.
 Shopping away!
We shopped for about 2 hours and we were starving afterwards so we headed to In-N-Out Burger. This is one of me and John's favorite places to eat. Delicious!
Saturday we decided to head to Napa Valley. We stopped in Sanoma because they always have a b-b-que pit going and the smell lures me back every time. We ate a good lunch and walked around exploring the shops.
As we headed out of Napa, we stopped at a winery so Kate and John could enjoy a wine tasting. They enjoyed it and John ended up buying a bottle of wine.
The family. John was making sure "Butler" got in the picture. We're ready for the game tonight!

My favorite man in the world.
Vineyards behind the winery we stopped at. The weather was absolutely beautiful!
 Us 3 :)
Yesterday Kate and I headed to the outlet mall where we spent way too much money but had a great time. I dropped her off at the airport around 5:30am this morning and I've been running errands. Today is the first day that I am in shorts and a t-shirt. My skin is a little red from being in the sun. We have all the windows open and we're going to enjoy this perfect weather. I'll blog Wed. for my 22nd week!
