Date Night!!!

So I have the most awesome husband. He told me this past week that we would be going on a date Saturday night and I needed to be ready to walk out the door by 4pm. My first question was "What about Jude?". He said he had everything planned and I wasn't to worry about a thing. Um, ok!

Saturday at 4pm our babysitter came to the door and we leave for our date. John drove downtown and parked right next to a strip of restaurants and I was immediately wondering which place we're going to eat at. Instead of walking towards the food, he turns me completely around to a huge park with the Capital building in the middle. Then I see our photographer whom I adore.

Side story: When I was about 8-9 months pregnant with Jude I was reading the blog Baby Rabies and Jill had just posted pictures from her date night photo session with her husband. They have 2 kids and wanted pictures of just the two of them. I showed John the blog and said I would love to do that one day. It could be a birthday or anniversary gift. This was when I was pregnant and haven't thought about it since. So anyway....

When I saw her I realized it was date night pictures and I was so excited. John told me to dress nice ( and I'm super glad he did) so I felt like I was dressed for the occasion. I was also wondering how he got an appointment with her because by August she was booked for the year and I wasn't even able to get Christmas pictures booked in time. He arranged this in JULY! He said he needed time to plan everything out and make sure he would be home and not traveling for work.

We took pictures for a little over an hour and had such a good time with it. It was so much fun! It was also stress free because we weren't on any time constraint and we didn't have a child with us to worry about.

After pictures we headed to the area with restaurants and ended up at a place called Chops, which is  comparable to Ruth Chris. We had fabulous steak dinners and just talked the whole time. Afterwards we headed to pick up donuts for breakfast and once we had the box in the car we popped it open for dessert. We got home just in time to kiss our baby goodnight and put him to bed.

It was such a perfect night. The fact that John has been planning it for such a long time makes me love him that much more. Alot of thought went into last night and I feel very loved that he did all of it for me. In his words, "You deserve it". Much more was said, but he truly is amazing and I am so blessed for my wonderful little family. :)

Kathleen put a few sneak peak pictures on Facebook, so here they are. When I get the c.d. I'll post more.

On The Go

Jude can now climb onto Riley's couch, much to Riley's dismay, and look out the window.
Sometimes he just needs to sit and take a break.
We went to a going away party at a friends house for another friend who is moving to PA next week. Such a bummer!!!
Aidan playing.

Jude is now obsessed with climbing in/out and on/off things.

I took Jude to the Children's Museum today. It was a hot and cold adventure. Before you even pay to get in, there is an area with a large Lite Brite. Jude adored it.

We finally paid and made our way in. Our first stop was the "Baby Boomers" area. It's for tots under the age of 2.
Climb in...climb out.

In the boomers area he fell down a stair. Even though I knew it didn't hurt, baby boy threw a tantrum. I offered him a snack to which he immediately stood up and had a smile on his face. Then I offered him grapes (his favorite). He looked at me like I ruined his life, threw himself on the ground, and kicked and screamed.
Mid-tantrum.
I just sat in a chair and let him cry it out until he was ready to try for a different snack. The second time I got it right (applesauce). Then he was off to play.

Looking in his shopping basket.

Checking the cute kid out in the mirror.
About 30 minutes later he decided to throw himself down yet again and I decided it was time to go. We headed out of the gate area back into the lobby (where the lite brite is). He immediately took off to play and we stayed another half hour.
He loved pushing this chair through the foyer area.

Climb up...climb down...and Mom snaps picture when she sees the best opportunity.

Snacking on the way home.

Children's Museum = Success (?)

Jude is into dancing now and I tried to vget him on video. Little did I know he would start to poop and I thought it too funny not to post. That's just me though.

Playing with a purpose.
His other favorite thing to do in the lobby.

We had a great week and now we're hyped up for Jackson's first birthday Halloween party tomorrow!

More pictures and videos from my phone.
Leaving the park after playing hard with Jackson.

I had a playdate at our house this week. I put out food for adults and kids to enjoy. The moms were able to just hang out and talk while the kids played. It was a good time.

After a spaghetti dinner.

We had a mall playdate this week and this is Jude and Jack playing.

Grapes in his hair.

This morning I took Jude to Barnes and Nobles to play in the kids area and get some books. He had a great time running around wanting me to catch him. :)

Cheese smile. LOVE this kid!

I took Jude to the park this afternoon since the weather was fabulous! Jude, of course, loved every minute of it.

Jude at the mall play area. He loves this place.
Riley was making Jude crack up.

11 Weeks/ Pumpkin Patch/ Brays Visit

How far along: 11 Weeks.
Total weight gain:None.

Maternity clothes: No, but shorts/jeans are feeling tight.
Sleep: I don't even know what to say about it. It's a love/hate relationship right now.
Best Moment this week: Having the Brays here and going to the pumpkin patch and Apple Hill.
Movement: A little bit.
Gender: Won't know for another 29 weeks!
Labor signs: Hopefully not for another 29 weeks.
Belly button: Still stretched out a little from Jude.
Cravings: Not craving much, just home cooked food. And Chipolte.
What I miss: I'm already mourning my one-on-one time with Jude.
Stretch Marks: None.
What baby is up to: Hanging out. Growing. Moving.
What I am looking forward to this week: Birthday party central during the next 2 weeks!

The Brays came into town for the weekend and we had a blast! Friday we headed to the Bishop Pumpkin Patch and it was so much fun. We waited until after Jude's nap so he would enjoy himself, and he certainly did. We rode the train, went down slides, petted the animals in the petting zoo (Jude's favorite), bought an apple cake and a pumpkin, ect. I'm really excited to go back next year!

This llama freaked me out. I thought for sure it would try to bite us.

Jude's favorite. He couldn't get enough of the little animals.

Kissy Kissy

He wanted to walk EVERYWHERE! He was barely in his stroller during our outing.

Playing in an open area.

Tunnels!

Really big pumpkins.

Riding on Grandpa's lap during the train ride.

Jude loves the slides.

He's pretty tall!

He kept wanting to feel Dorothy's hair.

Saturday we drove about an hour away to an area called Apple Hill. It's up in the Foothills and there are about 50 little places where you can find apples/pumpkins/Christmas trees/ food/ect. We stopped at 4 places and Jude then Jude was ready to go. We ate lunch and walked around and snacked alot. We spent most of the day there. So much fun!
Jude needed a break from all the chaos, so I took him to the lake area and he loved watching all the people fish.

We stopped at this place for a German lunch. It was disgusting (just my opinion), but everyone else thought it was ok. They had a little shop next to it where I bought Peyton/Payton a super warm swaddle blanket.

John is on his way to the airport now to drop off his parents. One more day of relaxing before John has to go back to work. :)
