A couple of pictures...

29 Weeks. I wanted Riley in the picture but he wasn't understanding "Look, Riley! Look at the orange, blinking dot!" Oh well.
Baby's room is slowly but surely coming together after Indy shower.
I actually just finished his room and decided to update. This is his bookshelf with lots of fun books, toys, and stuffed animals. The pack-in-play and laundry basket will be moved once the stroller is out of his bedroom. If you look between the bookcase and basket, there are a couple of black boxes between them. We only have one cable outlet in the living room and when we moved the office (baby's room) to the living room we had to leave the internet modem in his room and this is the only place where it can go and the internet still work.
Diaper bags are packed. The green one is the main bag we'll be using but I was told by a few people just to have a smaller bag on standby for quick trips where the bigger bag will be a hassle. So I have one ready just in case.
His closet is full! All of his clothes are washed and hung and we've stocked up on alot of diapers as well.
This is the top of his dresser with his little c.d. player. The basket contains his cd's and dvds.
This is the top drawer of the changing table. As you can see, stocked up!
Now it's just a waiting game for our baby boy to arrive! :)

29 Weeks

How far along: 29 Weeks. Gulp.
Total weight gain: 20lbs. total.
Maternity clothes: I wear anything comfortable.
Sleep: Not sure. Last week I wasn't sleeping because John was sick and kept me up all night. Then I went to Indy and the time change screwed me up. I got back home last night and after 20 hours of being awake I slept alllllllllllllll night. Thank goodness. I hope I sleep that good again tonight.
Best Moment this week: Going to Indy.
Movement:  Often. Very often. Kick count is usually completed by 7am.
Gender: Boy!
Labor signs: No true labor signs, just increased Braxton Hicks. We still have another 11 weeks.
Belly button: It's so weird. Just the top part has popped, but the rest is still on the edge.
Cravings: Just food.
What I miss: Not much.
Stretch Marks: No stretch marks yet except the dark line below and above my belly button. I'm not sure if it's my bra or not, but I think I may be getting some under my boobs.
What baby is up to: Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain.
What I am looking forward to this week: I'm looking forward to a 3 day weekend with my husband!

28 Weeks

How far along: 28 Weeks. Where is the time going?
Total weight gain: 20lbs. total. Eek.
Maternity clothes: I wear anything comfortable.
Sleep: Sleep sucks. I went from napping and sleeping all night to barely sleeping through the night. I keep getting up to pee, my congestion has gotten worse, and baby is constantly moving. The past two nights I've been on the couch because I'm so restless and I don't want to keep John awake.
Best Moment this week: Finding out I passed my glucose test and turning in my last English paper. Phew!
Movement:  Often. Very often. Kick count is completed by 7am.
Gender: Boy!
Labor signs: No true labor signs, just increased Braxton Hicks. We still have another 12 weeks.
Belly button: It's so weird. Just the top part has popped, but the rest is still on the edge.
Cravings: Just food.
What I miss: Sleep and ribs that aren't sore everyday.
Stretch Marks: No stretch marks yet except the dark line below and above my belly button.
What baby is up to: Your baby is settling into the proper position for birth, with his head facing downward. Your little work in progress is now about 2.5 pounds and almost 16 inches long. He's busy adding new skills such as blinking to an already impressive repertoire of tricks like coughing, sucking, hiccuping, and taking practice breaths. Your baby's sleep now includes the REM (rapid eye movement) phase — and that means he could be dreaming already.
What I am looking forward to this week: I'm leaving for Indy Friday! I'm very excited to see the Brays' this weekend! Tomorrow is my last final and then I'll be finished with school for 2 weeks.

Yuck Weather

I woke up this morning to rain and thunder. John walked into the bedroom to announce it was also cold outside. Ugh. What is up with this California weather? How is it that I'm in shorts and a tank for two weeks then all of a sudden I'm back to sweat pants and a sweatshirt? We had our birth class all day yesterday and  it was a good day to have it because it was cold and windy. There wasn't much we would have done yesterday anyway. It's almost 1pm and I'm still in my pj's. It's such a nasty day it's actually perfect for doing laundry, vacuuming, and making a big pot of chicken and sausage gumbo. Yum! At one point today it started hailing pretty hard. It was so loud, poor Riley ran into our bedroom to hide and cry. He does not like loud noises like that. Anyway, the camera was in our car and John was at the grocery store buying chicken for the gumbo so I used my phone to take a picture.
It looks like it snowed here, but it's all ice. Anyway, it's the last week of school and I have lots of work to do so I'll post Wednesday!

27 Weeks

How far along: 27 Weeks/ 3rd Trimester!
Total weight gain: 15lbs. total but I'll find out at my appointment next week how much I've gained.
Maternity clothes: I wear anything maternity or dresses.
Sleep: Sleep has been just ok. I've also been napping everyday, which I can't seem to stop doing, and because of that I'm not sleeping as well. The nasal congestion is also getting worse, so I know that is a big reason as well. But because I'm not sleeping well, I'm exhausted throughout the day and like today, I ended up taking a 2 hour nap.
Best Moment this week: Mother's Day! It was so wonderful getting all the cards in the mail! It's was a perfect first Mother's Day.
Movement:  Often. He wakes me up every morning and puts me to sleep everynight with his kicking. And there's lots more in between!
Gender: Boy!
Labor signs: None. Hopefully I won't have any for another (gulp) 13 weeks.
Belly button: It's at the edge, but plenty of people have told me theirs never popped so I'm betting mine won't either.
Cravings: Not much. I'm definitely in a bbq stage because it's finally nice outside. Anything food really.
What I miss: A clear nasal passage not coated in blood.
Stretch Marks: No stretch marks yet except the dark line below and above my belly button.
What baby is up to: This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds and is about 14 1/2 inches long with his legs extended. He's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing his eyes, and perhaps even sucking his fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While his lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning  if he were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother him, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.
What I am looking forward to this week: I'm looking forward to a few things. Finals is next week and then I have a 2 week break before summer school starts. Tomorrow my friend Erin (who lives here) is finding out the sex of their baby and I'm super excited about that! I had my glucose test so I am patiently awaiting the results so I can stop stressing about having to take the 3 hour test. However, I probably won't get those results until my next appointment.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to my Mom, Linda, and Thelma! I hope y'all had a wonderful day!
I hope I'm half the mom you are to me. :)
Today I enjoyed my very first Mother's Day. John had asked what I wanted as a gift and I said the only thing I wanted was to spend time with my boys. He made me breakfast, took me out to lunch, gave me a beautiful card, napped and hung out on the couch with me and Riley. It was a prefect way to spend my day. A year from now, I'll have a little boy to spend my day with and I'm really excited for that. But today John, Riley, and my constantly kicking baby boy made me very happy. :)

26 Weeks

How far along: 26 Weeks.
Total weight gain: 15lbs. total.
Maternity clothes: I wear anything maternity or dresses.
Sleep: I've been sleeping really well, sometimes even when I nap. I feel like I hit a fatigue stage the past week or so, but it's getting pretty hot here which could account for the sleepiness.
Best Moment this week: We had a BBQ with some friends this weekend which was alot of fun. I also went bra shopping and y'all, let me tell you, it was time! I signed up for a summer class at school which I'm excited about. It ends July 28th so I'm hoping this baby doesn't decide to come too early.
Movement:  Often. He may sleep sometimes but once he gets moving, he's at it for awhile.
Gender: Boy!
Labor signs: None. Hopefully I won't have any for another (gulp) 14 weeks.
Belly button: Slowly but surely, it's making it's way out. I'm told it may not pop at all.
Cravings: Not much. I'm definitely in a bbq stage because it's finally nice outside. We've grilled out quite a few times the last couple of weeks.
What I miss: A clear nasal passage not coated in blood.
Stretch Marks: The line by the belly button has gotten darker.
What baby is up to: By the 26th week of pregnancy, your baby weighs 1 1/2 to 2 pounds, and is about the length of a small pineapple. Your baby's eyebrows and eyelashes are well formed. His eyes are fully developed — he will start to open and close them at around 28 weeks. The hair on his head grows and thickens. Little footprints and fingerprints form. He starts using his lungs to mimic breathing. Essential fats accumulate under his skin.
What I am looking forward to this week: I'm looking forward to a few things. Saturday I'm getting a pedi with my friend Sabina and afterwards we'll go to her house and meet up with our husbands for a BBQ. I'm looking forward to taking my glucose test next week and getting that over with. School is almost over and I'm ready for a 2 week break before summer school starts. I'm also looking forward to leaving in 2 and 1/2 weeks for my baby shower in Indy!

It took a few tries for the picture. Riley was all up in my business trying to see what was going on. When we say "baby" he'll look at my belly and just stare. (Yes, we're teaching him "baby" by rubbing my stomach.) He also has a little stuffed dog that we call "baby" and we show him how gentle we're being with it. Riley has yet to try and tear it apart and he's very gentle with it when he carries it to us. Our goal is to get him to be gentle when we say "baby" for when the baby actually does come home.

He finally laid down at my feet. He's pretty protective of me, especially when I have my shirt up and my belly is exposed. I've got a butt now too, apparently.
