Jude high-fivin'!

John and I taught Jude how to high-five. We're loving it and we think it's a blast. Last night I quickly grabbed the camera. We were able to get it on tape, however, poor ole' Jude's bald spot is making an appearance. :)

After a brief hiatus....

...I am back. We have been having internet issues for the past week. Yesterday I was sick of it and set out to fix it. 5 minutes later I was done. So, we're back. I took some pictures of Jude while I was playing around with my camera.

Love his wavy hair.

It's been an uneventful week. We're not having a great day today, but hopefully after a nap things will turn around.

8 Months and Counting!

My sweet baby boy (OMG I won't be able to say "baby" too much longer!) is 8 months old. Where oh where is the time going? Just yesterday I was 8 months pregnant and I was  impatiently awaiting his arrival. Jude is getting so big. He's well over 20 pound, longer than 28 inches (from his last appointment), and is very solid and not really chunky at all. He loves music and especially loves when we dance, which is quite often. His face lights up when "I'm sexy and I know it" comes on. Apparently we dance alot to it.  He laughs constantly and loves snuggling with his Momma. Other people comment on how Jude is such a cuddler with me and their babies have grown out of that. It makes me feel good. I love to snuggle.

Jude loves laughing at his daddy and as of yesterday has started a saying "dadadada". He no longer wants John to put him to bed, but in exchange he also loves playing with his daddy alot more than me. I'll take that trade off. :) People are commenting almost daily on his beautiful olive skin. Jude has 2 bottom teeth, 1 top tooth, and another top tooth about to break through.

This baby has kept John and I awake every single night for the past few weeks (except last night), and yet I can't stop staring at him and feeling so blessed. Jude has brought more joy to my life than I've ever had in my 29 years of life. I was meant to be a mother. But not any mother, Jude's mom. There are some days I'm so exhausted and I can't think straight and yet I find any spare moment to hold and snuggle him. There are days I'm beyond frustrated, but it's never at him. It's at the situation (ie: not sleeping). Jude is an extension of me and I LOVE it. I LOVE having another person that I love more than anything in the world being apart of me. I'm not a fan of needy people and being smothered, but Jude is the only person that can smother me and I savor it. He's not going to want to be all over me in the near future so I'm trying to enjoy every moment.

I think one of the best compliments I've gotten is from people who see us alot and they always comment on how close Jude and I are. I love hearing that. I know we are, but I like that it's noticeable to the world. Anyway, here are 8 month pictures of the most amazing, sweet, lovable, and beautiful baby in the world. :)

We had a play date with Nina and Evan. This is the boys in the back of my car.

Playing at the park. Jude and I read books and laid around talking to each other. This was also the first time he started saying "dadada".

I kiss all of his body, but I can't keep his feet out of my mouth. I love his tootsies and he laughs everytime I playfully bite them. Hehe.

Giving daddy a swim break and swimming with Momma!

Park Play Date

Jude and I headed to the park today with a couple of our friends. It was a beautiful day and we weren't going to waste it! We ate lunch and fed the babies at Erin's house, then we walked to the park in her neighborhood. We had a fabulous time and we're looking forward to more nice weather so we can have more outdoor time. :)

Melissa and Landon. Melissa told us today that they are expecting baby #2 in Dec/Jan!

Jude and I had another babysitting gig yesterday. Erin's nanny called in sick again so Jude and I headed to her house to pick up Jackson. Once again the boys were good. Jude became really clingy towards the end, but thankfully it was at the end of the day and not the beginning.

We went swimming today, but my nocturnal baby only slept a hour afterwards instead of his normal 3. John and I are getting desperate for a full night sleep so hopefully Jude delivers here shortly. :)

Park

Yesterday was such a nice day that we decided to take Jude and Riley to the park. We strolled around until we came up to the play area. Last time Jude and I went he loved the swings. Yesterday, not so much.

"What is going on here?"

holding on tight

Towards the end he was actually falling asleep. I was cracking up!

John was outside grilling and I was cooking in the kitchen when all of a sudden I glanced over to check on him and I saw this. I quickly took a picture then rescued him. :) He was totally fine and it didn't faze him that the play gym toppled over him.

Today is another beautiful day and we'll be going for a walk again. We also got a babysitter for today so John and I could go see Channing Tatum. Um, I mean "21 Jump Street". ;)

Play Date

My friend Michele had a play date at her house today. It was so much fun and, as always, so nice to have girl talk. Jude had a fabulous day and ate and napped on time today.
Jackson being cute as ever.

Jude was obsessed with getting into the basket of toys.

My happy little man.

"Stop moving, Jude, I'm trying to kiss you!"

Naptime. Talk about pulling my heart strings.

My friend Erin is amazing. I can't believe I have only known her a year. I feel like we've been friends for years. She knew I've been having a rough few weeks and she gave me a sweet giftbag today filled with goodies. I watched Jackson for her Monday so she bought me a Target giftcard, though watching Jackson was super easy. She also got me a card with very encouraging and supportive words that make me really appreciate our friendship.

All in all, a great day!

Babysitting

A few minutes before he was right under his toys. This baby is on the move!

On our way to see the Easter Bunny!

Jude loves to swing!

Easter morning

My friend Erin works from home and her nanny called in sick today. She was in a bind and called right away to see if I could help with Jackson. Jude and I hopped in the car and headed to their house. We got both boys in the car and then I started wondering what I was going to do with both of them. She works until 3pm and it was only 10am. So, we headed to Target. :) Jackson was in the basket and I had Jude in the Bjorn on me. They were super good and I bought them each a .99 airplane bathtub toy for being such good sports.
Jackson in the basket. :)

After Target, I put them both in the car and they looked sleepy. I got on the highway and made a loop around the city that lasts about 45 minutes to an hour. (Erin only lives about 5 min. away, but I needed them to nap!) I wanted to make sure they had a good nap and they certainly did! We got to my house around noon and they were ready for lunch.
Two bites for you....and now two bites for you....

After lunch I changed them and cleaned them up. I brought them into the living room for some play time.

Around 1pm I fed Jackson his bottle, then put him down to play, then fed Jude his bottle. After changing them, putting them in their car seats and heading back to Erin's it was around 2pm. Once we arrived at Erin's I took them for a walk. She lives in a nice area with a large park so I put Jude in the stroller and carried Jackson on me. We walked for a while since it was such a beautiful day. We headed back to her house around 2:45 where we played until 3 and she got off of work.

The boys were so good, it was definitely an easy day. Jude had about an hour of unhappiness, but that's better than most days so I would say it was a success!

I put Jude in the car around 3:15 and headed back home. He fell asleep in the car so he had a good nap. I was interviewing another babysitter at 4pm so we needed to get home. Now it's 5:15 and I'm about to feed Jude dinner and John should be home any minute! :) Night, y'all!
