Eh.
Nothing, I mean NOTHING has been going on around here. It's to cold to go outside and I'm over being inside watching tv. We're just waiting for the FBI to finish up the back round check. All this waiting is driving me crazy. Or maybe it's the weather making me a little crazy. Not sure. I just want some kind of plan for the future. It's been so unknown for over a year now, I would like some kind of stability. I know John is feeling a little anxious as well. I can't even imagine being in his shoes but I just stay supportive. I am so ready for Spring. At least the time changes in 2 weeks, so hopefully the weather will change to. I'm also starting to feel down hearing about all of the horrible stories in the world. Between Haiti, Chile, and all of the people hurting in this economy, it's enough to drive someone nuts with the guilt that they can't change it all. It's so hard to hear all those stories sometimes. We are so lucky for what we have. I feel very grateful that we have such amazing families to turn to if we needed. Well, that's about it. There isn't anything going on. John is making a gumbo and I'm still in my pajama's. Just lounging around today.

Snow, snow, go away....
If this picture doesn't tell you how much snow we have, then you have a problem!! Haha! Look at this! I leave Cancun to come back to THIS! Are you kidding me??? Oh well, it is supposed to start snowing again tomorrow for the next 4 days. *sigh*.
Starting Monday for the next 2 and a half weeks, every class at school will be a country. I choose France, because let's face it, I love Paris. I am so excited about this. Every child will have a passport (I have already starting making those) and we will be learning how to speak French. I'll make crescent rolls and call my kids "couillions". We will make Euros and play market. Anyway, it's going to be a blast and I can't wait! I decided to put my door together today and this is the outcome. I am going to add "Bienvenue" in red letters coming down the side of the tower. I'm also taking pictures of the kids looking up and I'm going to add them on the green at the bottom so it looks like they are looking up at the tower. haha.

We're back!!!
We had the most perfect honeymoon! I am so sad that we had to come back to the real world. It was a wonderful 80 degrees and sunny most days. Every morning we woke up to beautiful weather and a big ole breakfast buffet. You can literally choose ANY breakfast you want. Any. I had at least one glass of champagne every day. I was celebrating! Our room, the food, the customer service, the hotel, all perfect. I have most pictures on facebook so take a look! The first day we got there without any airline problems at all. The second day we burned pretty bad. (I know mom, I should have worn sunscreen!!) It was an all inclusive resort so we didn't have to pay for anything while we were there. That included our excursions as well. Monday we took a tour to Isla Mujeres. It was very relaxing. We sat at a bar that had swings for seats. Very exciting! Tuesday we went zip-lining and horseback riding. Zip lining was alot of fun, but horseback riding, not so much. We were sunburned and needless to say, the leather did NOT feel great on my bare skin.
By Tuesday afternoon I was feeling pretty bad from the sunburn. My skin felt like it was on fire and I had raccoon eyes from hell. Earlier in the trip I found out about a Chi soothing skin wrap that takes the burn away. It's for people who are sun burnt. I booked that and come to find out I had $50 off from our package. So I did that and let me tell you, there was no place for modesty in that room! haha. Anyway, it took the burn away and I started peeling by that night.
The rest of the days were spent at the hotel. We did alot of laying out by the beach and pool. The hotel has 3 infinity pools. The views were breathtaking. You could sit by the edge and look out into the ocean. We drank, I believe, every drink they could make. The dinners were fantastic. We had steak every night. It was just a very laid back and romantic vacation. We kept telling each other that it couldn't have been more perfect. As part of our honeymoon special, the hotel put together a romantic dinner. Our table was set up outside with rose petals all over and a special menu. It was so amazing! We also celebrated our 4 year anniversary. There was alot of sipping our drinks in the sun, talking and laughing. It was perfect!
This is where we had breakfast every morning. Mmmm, mimosa!

Then there were two...
For the past 2 weeks I have been the lone Saints soldier at school. I am the one and only Saints fan. Needless to say, every teacher, student, and parent has let me know that I'm rooting for the wrong team. Everyday I hear chants of "Go Colts! The Saints are going down!". Everyday. I'm not exaggerating. Sometimes 5 kids get in my face as I'm sitting down and I have to be like "Whoa, back up off me". I have told my kids that I am a Saints fan, however, it is perfectly ok for them to be a Colts fan. I don't want to persuade 3 year olds to side with me, because they will. Anyway, the whole school met for singing in the lobby this morning. Everyone was yelling "Go Colts!", and I had a huge burst of home sickness. I kept thinking there were so many schools in Louisiana that were chanting "Go Saints" and I was in the wrong school. Wrong state for that matter. Then in walks Oscar.... This is the cutest little boy I have ever met and he's in my class. This morning he told his mom he wanted to dress like me. So his mom put him in his Purdue jersey since it's the same colors as the Saints. He walks in and immediately my arms go in the air and I'm yelling "YYEESSSS!!!" Even though he's 3, it felt so good having one person on my side. I didn't feel quite so alone anymore. It's amazing that one little gesture from the goodness of his heart has completely made my day and made my home sickness not so bad anymore. So Thanks Oscar, you may only be 3 but you made this 27 year old have an amazing day!
