Hold on to your panties, I don't really want to talk about sex. I want to talk about school. Oh yeah, I forgot to tell most of you that I enrolled in two classes this semester. I wanted to take a math but because I am a "new" student I had to wait until everyone else scheduled their classes before I got to pick out of the leftovers. With this school, if you schedule then don't pay your tuition after 10 days, they drop your classes. While I was talking to my counselor, she showed me that there wasn't much to chose from at all. There weren't any classes I really wanted. I knew I wanted an English for sure, but that and math are usually the first to go. I went home wondering what the hell I was going to do or take for school. I decided to get back online and check out the classes. The next thing I knew I saw an English (that wasn't there an hour before) so I immediately grabbed it and tried to make it mine. The only problem? I had to also take a psychology class with it. It would NOT let me register without that one class. So, I thought whatever and decided to take 2 classes. The perfect thing about these two? They were both on Tuesdays and Thursday and the timing was PERFECT! I decided it was fate. It was at least one class that I wanted, on the days I wanted, and the times I wanted (9:30am-12:20pm).
Oh, and the psych class? Human Sexuality. Um, ok. I can handle that.
Fast forward to my first day of school. I have psych first so I go into class and see the tons of people trying to get added and I'm wondering how lucky I must have actually been to get into this class. Come to find out, the reason I had to take both classes together is because the teachers are friends and decided to co-teach. Not only will I be learning all about sex, but when I go to English I'll be writing all about sex! My college career as of now is revolved around sex. These are my books. The one on the left is for English and the one on the right is for psych. Lovely.
Yesterday was our first real day of school. Oh. My. God. I'm not writing about what happened because I think there may be youngins reading this, but let's just say uncomfortable. I'm not one to go talk, read, write, and share stories all about it, unless we're girlfriends then you know most of what goes on in my, ahem, life.
And to top it all off, I am the only one over the age of like 23, as well as the only one with a child (though mine is still gestating). I'm closer to the teachers age, who also has a baby, than I am to my peers. I am so looking forward to what this semester has in store for me. Who knows, maybe I'll learn a thing or two. ; )
John and I are starting our married life together! We're parents to a beautiful baby boy. This is our journey as we navigate parenthood and life itself!

12 Weeks
How Far along: 12 weeks
Total weight gain: None! Can you believe it? I thought it would be like 5lbs because I feel a little heavier.
Maternity clothes: No, and since I've stopped cramping and the bloat feeling is gone, I haven't used my bella band in a while. However, I'll be wearing it tomorrow. Pants are defiantly tighter.
Sleep: Welcome to my life, Insomnia. I'm reading "Sleep deprived no more" and I'm not seeing improvement yet. But I know sleep will eventually catch up with me.

Best Moment this week: Hearing baby's heartbeat! I knew I was pregnant the first 5 weeks because I felt so bad, but then all of a sudden I felt great, so it was nice to hear the heartbeat and know everything was still going well with baby. Heartbeat was 148. Also, realizing I officially have a little baby bump (doctor confirmed). It's really small and it's my lower abdomen so no pictures for y'all. I can't be showing my goodies!
Movement: Too soon for me to feel anything, but apparently if I poke my stomach baby will squirm and move around.
Gender: Girl.

Labor signs: Hopefully I won't have any for another 28 weeks!
Belly button: It'll be in for awhile
Cravings: Chocolate milk!!!! I'm drinking a few large glasses of milk a day.
What I miss: Not a thing.
Stretch Marks: Only in my mind
What baby is up to: Reflexes! Baby's fingers begin to open and close, his toes curl, his eye muscles clench, and his mouth makes sucking movements.

What I am looking forward to this week: I'm looking forward to entering my second trimester next Tues/Wed. John and I are also going register this weekend. :)
This is baby at 12 weeks. I don't have picture of me this week. Our doc confirmed the baby bump. Hopefully it'll keep growing enough so we can at least get a picture of it.

11 Weeks
How Far along: 11 weeks
Total weight gain: I should find out Monday, but I know it's only a couple of pounds.
Maternity clothes: No, and since I've stopped cramping and the bloat feeling is gone, I haven't used my bella band in a while.
Sleep: I realized when I nap, I don't sleep as good at night. But if I don't nap, I'm in bed by 8pm completely exhausted. Kind of a lose-lose situation.

Stretch Marks: Only in my mind

What I am looking forward to this week: Our 12 week appointment Monday. Hopefully baby is hitting all milestones. I also hope I continue to feel this wonderful. I'm still a little tired and some back pain, but otherwise, I can't complain at all. My appetite is back, I am certainly eating for two, even though I'm not technically supposed to.
No bump, just all the crap I've been shoving in my mouth is showing.

Happy New Year!!!
I hope everyone has a wonderful New Year! We were so blessed in 2010, and we hope to be just as lucky in 2011. We spent our night first going out to eat, then lighting a fire, and lastly watching a movie snuggled on the couch. All 3 of us. :) We all look a little weird in the picture but I wasn't taking the time to get a "perfect" shot. Anyway, Happy New Year and I look forward to what the year brings everyone!
