Weird

Nothing too much has been going on. I recently started school with my awesome new schedule. We'll see how awesome it is when the paycheck comes though : ) 3 days a week I get off at 1:45 and this is what I do with my afternoons. haha. John and I have been taking monthly pictures. We are doing this for a year so we have a picture for every month we've been married. This month our "friend" decided to get in the picture. He's the white circle on the back wall. This is very interesting to me because I have always known he was in our bedroom but I've never felt him anywhere else. I was sick a week or so ago and I slept on the couch so I wouldn't keep John up with all my coughing and in the middle of the night I thought "He's moved on to the downstairs". It was the weirdest feeling. Anyway, this is the very FIRST picture I have of him downstairs. I have taken a million pictures of downstairs before looking for him and never finding him. After 2 pictures I now have this one and....
this one. You can't see him on this wall with this picture so click on it and you'll be able to see a huge white circle on the wall along with a few smaller circles. Obviously by the large photographs on the wall it's just the light coming in.

Anyway, not too much going on with us. We are leaving for Charleston, SC Saturday and we are sooo pumped!! I LOVE Charleston and I can't wait to get back there. John has never been so I'm super excited for him to experience it. Today is gonig to be a laid back day. I hope everyone has a great week!

John's Garden

This spring John decided he wanted a garden. He did it all. And by that I mean that I didn't do n-u-t-t-i-n. He planted flowers in the front yard, sunflowers in the back along the garage, and he started a small veggie garden. These are the sunflowers. I took this picture the day after a huge storm came through. They are all tilting now but that's ok. They are still blooming. The are beautiful.
This one is bigger than my hand. It's massive!

This is John's watermelon. It's slowly growing and making an entrance into the world.

His first tomato! He was very excited about this, however one night something came into our backyard and ate it, as well as our neighbors strawberries.

This is just a bigger picture. You can see how they are all leaning from the storm. John did a great job this year and I suspect next year we will have more things to grow. I'm very proud of his dedication in putting it all together and watering them every night.
On another note, John and I have been married 2 months, YAY!

8-8-08

One year ago today John got down on one knee and nervously proposed to me. I, of course, said yes. It's amazing what can all happen in one year. We had just moved in together, he was still flying at United, I had just quit flying, and we had the excitement of an upcoming wedding. Now, one year later, I have never been this excited about our future. The wedding has since passed and it was amazing! However, I love being married to my husband and I can't wait to see where our marriage will take us. A year ago I was looking forward to a wedding, now I'm looking forward to the rest of our lives.

Last night we celebrated being "engaged" for one year. It was a great night with wonderful food and a walk around the canal at sunset. I can't wait to see what next year will bring!!!

Ahhh...relaxing!

A couple of weekends ago John, Riley, and I went to Eagle Creek. It's a state park with trails to hike and lots of room for Riley to run around. We decided to take a picnic up there for the afternoon. It was alot of fun! It's $5 to get in and we were there for about 3 hours. We were about to start eating and Riley was happy about that!
My two boys.

I got this picture on our way home. A deer ran right in front of us while we were walking the trails and we saw a couple of vultures. I didn't realize how big they were up close! Around 3pm the wind picked up a little and I read on the blanket. We all laid down for awhile to rest our eyes. It was a wonderful day!

John and I have been searching for the "perfect" couch for a long time. I wanted big, comfy, and something perfect to nap on. This is what we found. We had a very small love seat so needless to say this is huge for us! John took a picture of me laying on it but for some reason it wouldn't download. I take up a cushion and a half. It's also very high up, which I love. I have already taken to time to lie down on it and watch House Hunters.

We moved the old couch into the room off of the kitchen. The room has french doors to close it off. We decided , since it's a sleeper couch, it's a perfect second guest room. We have a guest room upstairs but if we ever had additional guests, we have another place for them to sleep. Granted it's a smaller room, there are no curtains on the doors and anyone can see right it. But it's perfect so no one has to sleep in the living room.
So that's about it. I was a little sick last weekend and I've been so tired this week. I think I'm trying to catch up with my sleep. John hasn't been doing too much. Mostly dealing with the garden that I will eventually take pictures of. He has done an amazing job with it and when I feel like going outside hopefully I won't forget my camera.
Have a great week!

One month married...

John and I have been married for one month. It has been an awesome month and love this more than ever! I will be taking pictures on each month anniversary so I can record our first year married. We have been busy (with what? we're not really sure), just alot going on. We bought our very first piece of furniture together yesterday. We got a really big, comfy, overstuffed couch. We love lounging on the couch watching movies or our tv shows. It will be delivered Aug 5 so I'll be blogging that later.
John and Riley cuddling. They are too cute for words.

For our one month anniversary I made crawfish etouffee'. Nothing like stuffing your face with the one you love. I took this picture after we both had our couple of plates. I have cooked all week and I feel like I'm gonna burst. We had really good dinners last week.

Friday night John, his parents, and I went to something called Symphony on the Prairie. It's really big and they play different types of music. Friday was all Billy Joel music. It was amazing! The guy singing it was the star of "Moving Out", which is a Broadway musical put together by Billy Joel. It was so amazing but I couldn't believe the amount of people that showed up. Everyone brings chairs, blankets, food, etc... It was awesome!

This was my view. It was packed!!!
This weekend was good. Today we're going to Eagle Creek Park to have a picnic. It's a beautiful day (it's about freaking time!) and we're going to take Riley and go on the trails and just lay out for a while. I hope everyone has a great week!!

Nothing much....

I know I haven't posted in a while! Sorry!! There has been alot going on here lately. Nothing too fun or exciting but you know...I guess I'll start with our Indianapolis Reception. We had it July 5th and it was a really great time. I was so sick (and not from nerves). I think I had some sort of 24 hour stomach bug. It was hard to stand up straight but I played it off well I think. Mom and Keith were able to come in so that was awesome since I didn't have anyone there from my side except for friends from work. You can read mom's blog on that weekend. It was lots o fun!
This is after our Indy Reception. We needed at least one good picture with Riley. Last weekend John went to PA with his family for a family reunion. He had a great time and I had a very relaxing weekend home. I was able to CLEAN THE WHOLE ENTIRE HOUSE!!! I felt very accomplished by the time he came back. Besides cleaning I also got a pedicure, shopped with gift cards for the rest of our towels/ sheets/ etc., and went to a movie. It was great!
Friday was my friend Kate's Birthday! We went out to dinner and to bar's afterwards to celebrate. It was alot of fun.

John and I at P.F. Chang's. We were happy to find it relatively inexpensive for being such a nice restaurant. Yesterday we went see John's 2 aunts in Batesville, IN to show them our wedding pictures and DVD. It was alot of fun and it was great being about to catch up with them. They had a whole lunch spread waiting for us and it was good!! Riley enjoyed being fed and loved on. : ) We also went to Home Depot and spent a gift card there. I came home and ate chicken and sausage gumbo that mom brought me from her cajun store in SC. Yum!!

This picture was supposed to go with the other one at the top. Oh well...
Anyway, today we did a little more gift card shopping. We also went sofa shopping and I think we found "the one" at our price. We're going to check out a few more places then we'll decide. We spent the afternoon reading (me) and snoozing on the couch (him). We have also been getting closer in making final choices for Brazil. Tomorrow is back to work. Talk to you soon!

We're Married!!!!!

Yeesssss!! Finally, it's all over with!! We are married and back at home. Of course these pictures are out of order, but whats new? We went to Florida for a week and a half. It was alot of fun. The wedding itself was perfect (of course I think so!). We had a great time and I was so happy I got to see most of my family. Of course, like every wedding, there were a few glitches but I have to say I still think it was perfect. Never in a million years could I have predicted how I felt during the ceremony. John's face was absolutely priceless. It went over and beyond every expectation I could have had! It was funny and special all at the same time. I cried and laughed and have never felt so much for a person before [who isn't blood related ;)] This was our kiss. John decided to flip me to the side. I was holding on for dear life!
I think he just said "for richer and POORER"...

I love this picture. It seems like we're standing on water. Kinda seems right because I certainly felt like I was floating. I had so many emotions going on just through the ceremony. It was wonderful.

On our drive back from Florida I was still in shock we were married so I took a picture : ) It's still a little weird seeing him with a ring on, though I love seeing it. But I feel married. We're still in happy mode (thank goodness since it's only been 10 days) but it's a great feeling. I feel like I gained something special in my life, which I did.

Getting gas. Just letting people know what we were up to.
All in all, the week was a success! We couldn't have done it without our parents and I think we'll be thanking them for the rest of our lives for it. They have all went completely out of there way to make it perfect for us, and it was. We love ya'll!!!
