3 weeks

John and I have been getting ready for the wedding/vacation. I finished the favors and programs last night. Those favors were a 3 month deal. They took forever! We used to make one day a week about the wedding. We would shop, usually on a Saturday, and that would be it. However, the closer it gets we have to talk about it alot more. From the beginning we said we wanted our life to be about us and our relationship and not revolve around the wedding, and we've done a great job with that. Now we almost have to make a night Not about the wedding. There are so many things we still have to do and think about. Craziness. This is one corner of a room! Between wedding gifts, fathers day, and John's birthday, we have alot of things going on. Tonight we're going to his aunts house for dinner and tomorrow we have a b-b-q at Bob's house. Bob is John's best friend. Next weekend is John's birthday and we'll be going to dinner and a bed and breakfast Sat. and Sun. The week after that is Wicked play Friday night and then our bachelor/bachelorette parties Saturday night. The next weekend we're getting married! So, our lives are so crazy right now!

We are looking forward to the wedding but I think the biggest and best part is being able to see all of our families and spend the week at the beach. It is (hopefully) going to be really relaxing and laid back. I'm looking forward to alot of reading and hanging with family. We'll be there for a week and 1/2. I hope it doesn't fly by.

We're already starting to pack. Our list of "To Bring" is getting longer by the minute. Well, I hope everyone has a great week and I'll see you all in 3 weeks!!!

Painting and the Weekend

We had a great weekend. Friday night I went to a Couples Shower with my friend Kate. He boyfriend had to move a few hours away for 6 weeks to do clinicals and she needed a date. It was a cocktail party and was lots of fun! I got home about 1am and had to wake up at 8 for a garage sell. John's aunt had a garage sell and we took some of our things there to be sold. We made $18!! :) Sunday was spent doing some wedding shopping. I can't believe it's only a month away. These pictures didn't turn up in the order that they should have so try to bare with me. John and I decided to paint. When I moved in it was totally his room and I didn't really care about it until I thought we're getting married, the bedroom should be "our" bedroom. So we decided to paint. When I say we, I mean John. He did 95% of all the painting and he did an amazing job!! The walls couldn't be more perfect!! We're still not done with the room yet. We're looking for bedside tables and we went to Target and bought a bunch of black frames for our Europe pictures. I'll post when the room is really done but that won't be for awhile so I thought I'd just show the walls at least.

This is after. Our new quilt matches perfectly! We got 2 large black frames for the plum wall.I can't wait to see how it all turns out! Thanks John for working so hard on this!!

Next weekend is Memorial Day and I have a 3 day weekend. Yay!! We also leave school early on Thursday and no school next Friday for Shavuot (Jewish holiday). 3 1/2 day week next week so I'm really looking forward to that!

Indy shower and mini-vacation

Last weekend was my Indianapolis shower. John's sister, Amy, and his 2 cousins, Joanne and Jerilyn, threw an awesome shower for me!! They put alot of work into it and it was amazing! My mom and Keith decided to surprise me and called Saturday morning to let me know they were on their way. It was so exciting!! Lots of people came to the shower and John and I got lots of great gifts. We played a game called "How well does the bride know the groom". Thank goodness I did well or John would never let me live that down!!! Mom and I at the shower. I'm so happy she was able to come. She was the only person from my family that was able to make so I was thankful for that : )

We FINNALLLYYYYYYY had a warm/ sunny day last week! We grilled out, had the windows open, and got to wear shorts!! I can't believe it's freakin May and it's barely 60 degrees. I'm having a hard time keeping my true feelings about Indiana to myself but my momma thinks I better get over it because I'll be here for awhile. I hope John realizes how much I love him. There aren't many people in the world that I would live up north for.

Anyway, HAPPY MOMMAS DAY TO ALL THE MOMMAS OUT THERE!! I knew my mom wouldn't have her kiddos with her this year for mothers day so i decided to try and see her. I found a pretty cheap ticket, booked it, and set off Friday night after work to Charleston, SC. The weather was perfect. In the 80's and sunny. We shopped downtown at the market Saturday and ate real food (seafood) and shopped the rest of Saturday. It felt so good being in Charleston. When I spent 4 summers in a row there when mom lived there before, they were the best summers ever. I lived at the beach or downtown. I have so many great memories that it was fantastic being there again. Sunday was beach day. We were out there about 2 hours and needless to say I am burnt. I was told to put on sunscreen, but did I listen? Of course not. There was alot of good eating and relaxing. Now I'm home, getting ready for the rest of my week. Every weekend is booked until the wedding. It's crazy. But I hope everyone has a great week!!!!

Nothing much..

Hey ya'll. Just updating everyone, not that's there's really anything to update. This past weekend was awesome. I slept in on Saturday. John went volunteer with the neighborhood alley cleanup. Yeah, not for me so I went shopping with some gift cards. Lots of fun! Sunday we went to the mall for a bit because I needed a white shirt and ended up at Old Navy getting one for $10! John's cousins son had his first communion that afternoon so we went to that. He has a great family so it was lots of fun! Right after that we came back home because we had a bar-b-que with the neighbors. It was a very relaxing weekend. John has been working hard on painting the bedroom this week. It's looking really good. I can't wait to post the before and after pics on here.

It's almost Friday thank goodness. I am DONE with work for the week. However, it looks like were going to have another busy weekend. We're having a bar-b-que with a couple Friday night. Saturday we have a wedding to go to. It starts at 2 and the reception is at 5:30 (??!!) I know, it takes up our whole day! Sunday I plan on sleeping in and them my wedding shower is at 1pm. Yay! It's going to be alot of fun, I can't wait! Well, I hope everyone has a great rest of the week! I'm off to work!

Weekend

So this weekend was very uneventful. Friday night John and I went to see his niece in a high school musical. She wasn't actually in the musical, she was part of the musicians. She was awesome! We got home and to bed about 11:30 and 7am rolled around. We got up, John made breakfast and my friend Kate came over around 7:45. We left the house at 8:15 because the Race for the Cure began at 9am. It was a good time! We met up with our other friend Angela and walked until about 11am. Riley also came. I think they said 40,000 people attended the walk.

That night we went to Bob's for his birthday party. Sunday was a very lazy day. It rained all day and we went to Lowe's to pick out colors for our bedroom. We haven't started painting yet. We taped alot of the moldings and I bought 2 different kinds of sample paint. It's 7 ounces but it's enough to put it on the wall and see what your gonna get. We love the 2 colors we choose so we're gonna buy more of it. Maybe this weekend, though this weekend is filling up as well.

Today is 60 days until the big day! There should be lots of planning going on here but we're just too tired for it. Wedding stuff/ lists/ etc. ooorrr pj's/tv shows/ glass of wine. Not a hard decision is it? So, I'm about to log off here and go curl up on the couch because American Idol is on tonight!!

Wedding Shower/Easter

I just got back from Louisiana. It was alot of fun and it was also my wedding shower. Mom and I drove down Thursday. Lin, Katie, Annie, and I all went eat boiled crawfish that night. They were sooo good!!! Friday we picked John up from the airport and we all did some shopping. Saturday was the shower. It was so amazing and thanks to all my aunts and Lin for putting together my beautiful shower! The food was amazing! My aunt Cathy made the cake and it was so delicious! I'm not a person who particularly likes cake but I ate 2 pieces.

This was the only picture I could find with all four of us in it. I was opening gifts and Katie, who is also my Maid of Honor, wrote down all the gifts, along with the 2 moms-of-the-bride. With everything going on I didn't have alot of time to think, now I wish we would have taken better pictures. I also thought I had pics of me and Lin on my camera but I don't. That's a little disappointing but now I know to think of these things before hand.

This was taken as John was walking out the door before the shower. He came down and it was great having him in Louisiana with me. He also got to meet more of my family.

Easter morning I went to my aunt Christine's house for lunch. It was sooo good! This is 2 of my brothers and I'm so happy I finally got to see them!

Monday was spent buying meat. It will be a while before I get back to LA so we had to stock up! $200 later, our freezer is full!!! We both had a great time and it was so good being able to see my family and spend time with them. I already miss everyone but 66 days until the big day

Tomorrow, it's back to work :(

Engagement Pics

Mom left this morning to go to Illinois to see Josh. We have had such a great time. It's been so nice just relaxing, cooking, and eating our weight in ice cream. John took mom around town all the days I had to work. Saturday we went to the canal to take engagement pictures for us. John and I had planned on going to Archivers today because they had a photographer there who would take 5 pictures for $20. I told mom about it and she suggested she take pictures and see how they came out. We hadn't even thought of that. Anyway, they came out so great! This picture was taken with a timer on the camera. It was such a beautiful day!

This is one of our favorites. It's already in a frame on the mantel. It's such a great family picture.

This is the best of us. I've had such a great time with mom, can't wait until she comes back so we can go to Louisiana!! We leave in 4 days!!!
